Life is now.
Let’s paddle together.
A team of people affected by cancer who found in Dragon Boat a way to enjoy the present, share the journey and keep moving forward.
It all began with one paddle stroke.
After two years of Dragon Boat, we discovered that beyond paddling we were building something even more important: a group of people supporting one another, sharing moments and enjoying the present together.
In December 2025, fifteen women affected by cancer created the Dragonas del Jerte Sports and Sociocultural Association so that other people could find the same space for physical activity, nature, companionship and mutual support.
“We found a way forward. Today we want to open that door to others.”
Much more than paddling.
People who share the journey and welcome newcomers.
The Jerte River and Parque de la Isla are part of our identity.
A sport built on coordination, rhythm and teamwork.
A space for connection, trust and companionship.
Come paddle with us.
You can join us for two training sessions. You do not need to know how to paddle: we will teach you. You do need to know how to swim.
We train on the Jerte River as it passes through Parque de la Isla in Plasencia. Times change in winter.
The website speaks in their own words.
Real quotes collected in the team survey.
Stories also told through images.
A small selection of training sessions, gatherings and days shared together. The rest lives in our moments album.
